In 2011, Stromae won the European Border Breakers Award, a prize that is given annually to ten promising young European artists of the year who successfully debuted outside their own borders. In 2013, he released his second album “Racine carrée”; the album includes the four singles: “Papaoutai”, “Formidable”, “Tous les memes” and “Ta fête”. In France, he sold more than a million copies and received three prizes from “Victoire de la musique” (French version of the Grammys), and the album was certified twelve times platinum.
